Artist Statement

Like many artist I take from life’s experiences and surroundings and inform that in my work in some way. When I begin I take verbatim the past and the history of what I see in my studio space and take that information as inspiration. I’m attempting to slow down my thinking process in these new pieces and do more looking than usual. In the beginning my art was more reductive and I left more space on the surface. I’m experiencing that again. I have allowed myself to resolve a small piece longer and let the work resonate in my periphery and sink in before I let it go. Material has always been a big part of what I do and have kept that involved with each piece. I like pretty and rough. Glitter and duck tape fit in that category
